ON-BOARD INVENTORY MANAGEMENT & BARCODING

Inventory management has the potential to revolutionize the way ships run and to make them much more efficient than they currently are. With spares & integral vessel material movement it is important to know what does a ship have and what does it need. Operational exigencies in a vessel’s life doesn’t allow the ship or managing staff to track this aspect of the ship.

Our team of marine experts with database management experience do on-site visits to regulate on-board inventories and update in PMS. Generally, it is a 10-12 day process to record and show the complete inventory, irrespective of the PMS or Inventory Control software that the client is using.

Once on-board, the following is the recording process:

Identify & Assess parts
Labelling & Tagging Spares
Cross-checking and entering stock details & related information in the PMS
Entering information in easy-to-access excel sheet/s, in case PMS is unavailable
Tagging, bar-coding & effective isolation of unidentified and/or used spare parts

In addition, we also integrate PMS with Valad Barcode Solutions to enable update of spare part consumption through remote mobile device.
